Bartosz Pieliński
I am an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, where I actively contribute to interdisciplinary research and teaching. As a member of the team behind the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Public and Global Governance, I am responsible for exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on cultural heritage and ICH.
Through my collaboration with MI²DataLab, I also bridge the gap between social sciences and computer science. My work focuses on integrating natural language processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence into the study of public and social policy and international relations. I also help my computer science colleagues gain a deeper understanding of the political context behind the corpora of documents they want to study.
I currently head the Social and Public Policy Program at the University of Warsaw, and previously served as deputy director of the Institute of Social Policy from 2016 to 2019. I am also a founding member of the Institutional Grammar Research Initiative, where I have deepened my commitment to the application of computational tools in social science research.
