Bartosz Pieliński

I am an assistant professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. Thanks to my cooperation with MI²DataLab, I have become a broker between social sciences and computer science. I help build bridges between these two communities by finding interesting ways to implement Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in studies of public and social policy and international relations. I also help my computer science colleagues to better understand the political process behind IT regulations by providing my expertise from my research on public policy.

I am the head of the Social and Public Policy Program at the University of Warsaw, where I served as the deputy director of the Institute of Social Policy from 2016 to 2019. I am also a founding member of the Institutional Grammar Research Initiative, through which I developed my interest in implementing computer science tools in social science.
